About the role

This position requires successful completion of all training requirements established by the Arizona Supreme Court and the Probation Department. If applying for Deputy Probation Officer and/or Surveillance Officer roles, you must be medically and physically able to participate in the Defensive Tactics Training Academy, which includes:

• Minor aerobic activity
• Standing up to one (1) hour at a time
• Throwing punches (at partial speed)
• Use of impact weapons
• Kicking at targets below 24"
• Controlled falls
• Punch and kick drills (partial speed)
• Exposure to Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) Spray

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must be willing to accept a job requiring overtime, including weekends or holidays
• Must be willing and able to travel out-of-town if required
• Must successfully complete fingerprinting and a criminal background investigation
• Must pass additional tests including a pre-employment drug screen, credit check, polygraph examination, and psychological evaluation, depending on the position
• Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States
• Must sign a Loyalty Oath as a condition of employment
