Deputy County Counsel II/III/IV

About the Role

The San Joaquin County Office of the County Counsel is recruiting to fill one current Deputy County Counsel vacancy and to establish an eligible list which may be used to fill future vacancies. The ideal candidates will have civil litigation and/or transactional experience, with experience advising public agencies desirable.

Pay

Annual salaries (includes 10% Confidential Base Pay Supplement):

• Deputy County Counsel II: $128,019–$155,607
• Deputy County Counsel III: $160,321–$194,872
• Deputy County Counsel IV: $185,561–$225,551

The following incentives may be available for eligible new hires (subject to approval by Human Resources):

• Vacation accrual rate consistent with the candidate’s total years of public service.
• Credit for actual non-reimbursable sick leave hours (up to 160 hours) from the last agency, subject to San Joaquin County’s minimum sick-leave cash-out provisions.
• Documented moving expenses up to a maximum of $2,000.
