Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides administrative and clerical support to the department.
- Serves as the Accounts Officer or another specialized function as required.
- Operates the financial division of Superior & State Court Clerk's Office.
- Verifies and balances balances for fines, fees, and funds collected.
- Prepares reports and disbursements for funds sent to state agencies.
- Maintains office accounting records for multiple accounts.
- Balances and reviews financial reports monthly.
- Prepares office financial records for annual independent audit.
- Coordinates and performs daily verification and audit of funds received.
- Certifies that verification and audit trails have occurred.
- Provides accounting information and assistance to attorneys, financial institutions, and agencies.
- Maintains documents and large sums of money in a locked safe.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Consideration
- Grant writing, funding research, and grant resource development experience.
- Experience defining project objectives, identifying funding sources, constructing grant proposals, and assisting with economic and work objectives.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Understand and interpret state laws, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Have knowledge and understanding of accounting, public and court finance operations, auditing, and computer system administration.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret complex data.
- Skill in maintaining detailed financial operations and accounting.
- Operate complex and standard modern office equipment and computer systems.
- Skills in oral and written communication.
Minimum Educational And Training Requirements
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with specialized training in the occupational field.
- Basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
- Sufficient experience to understand basic principles relevant to major duties of the position.
