About the role
The Deputy Athletics Director for Business Operations/CFO provides financial and operational leadership to Intercollegiate Athletics, oversees administrative functions, and serves as a C-suite liaison to multiple campus partners.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all administrative departmental functions and serve as a C-suite liaison to multiple campus partners (Legal, OBP, IAPB, Procurement, Travel, etc.)
- Lead the development of a multi-year financial sustainability plan for Athletics, overseeing divisional financial resources on a multi-disciplinary basis
- Develop, interpret, and implement financial concepts for financial planning, resource planning (dollars), and control of the department's budget
- Analyze and prepare recommendations for financial plans, including annual resource allocations, future requirements, and operating forecasts
- Liaise with the university CFO, the controller, other departmental units, such as development and marketing/communications, the coaches, and the donors as appropriate
- Maintain strategic relationships with Business & Financial Services (BFS), central advancement, Design, Facilities & Safety Services (DFSS), and Student Affairs
- Direct business operations, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and other administrative functions
- Optimize revenue generation through various channels
- Provide strategic leadership for NCAA NIL strategy and initiatives
- Develop and maintain internal controls aligned with new NCAA and conference initiatives and requirements (Post-NCAA House Settlement)
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
- 4-6 years Work experience in higher education
