Responsibilities

  • Safety conscious, always looking for preventative safety measures and leading by example with the Valence Surface Technologies Code of Conduct policy.
  • Organize assigned area to ensure ready access to and knowledge of all orders currently in process on a daily basis.
  • Effectively communicate with customer service regarding work in or coming to the area for processing.
  • Maintain the shop in an orderly 5S and well-kept manner, operating within established safety, quality, and financial guidelines.
  • Monitor project and overall shop performance, department budget, and work with management to resolve problems and plan improvements.
  • Work closely with Production Management and supervisors on other shifts/departments to determine daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules.
  • Maintain and adjust schedules, reassigning labor as workload changes to keep work moving through the production process.
  • Execute schedules with urgency, prioritizing safety, quality, timeliness, and cost consciousness.
  • Maintain and monitor appropriate documentation for all orders.
  • Supervise employees in the department: organize work, assign tasks, and follow dashboard requirements to exceed customer expectations.
  • Communicate regularly with employees, seeking input on problem-solving and clarifying responsibilities and expected results.
  • Delegate responsibility appropriately, provide direction, counsel employees on performance, and offer assistance or training where needed.
  • Initiate disciplinary actions according to established procedures when necessary.
  • Work with management and human resources to resolve problems.
  • Train employees on Valence safety procedures and proper techniques for production processes and material handling.
  • Ensure employees understand and perform safe techniques for lifting and maneuvering materials.
  • Institute methods to complete work in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Resolve technical problems by involving appropriate personnel to keep production moving and meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Participate in improvement teams, Gemba walks, meetings, and continuous process improvement activities to reduce costs, streamline processes, and increase throughput.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Drug screening and background check are required.

Pay

$22.00–$29.00 per hour.
