About the role
The Department of Biology at California State University, San Bernardino is seeking part-time lecturer applications for both the San Bernardino Campus (SBC) and Palm Desert Campus (PDC).
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in General Biology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, or other topics in the field of Biology.
- Maintain a safe learning environment and observe safety guidelines, especially in laboratory activities.
- Read and evaluate student papers, homework, and other assignments.
- Promptly record and post student grades.
- Maintain scheduled office hours outside of teaching times.
- Communicate regularly with course coordinators and attend course team meetings.
- Return graded work promptly and record grades regularly.
- Return final section grades by the last day of final exams.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Biology or a related field.
- A strong command of the subject matter, course design and preparation, instructional material, and organizational skills.
- Experience teaching in the appropriate field and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Biology or a related field.
- A strong command of the subject matter, course design and preparation, instructional material, and organizational skills.
- Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued.
- Exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at the program level is preferred.

Benefits
Salary is commensurate with experience. (Actual Salary will be in accordance with percentage of time appointed)
- Lecturer A (Range 2): $5,507 – $6,677
- Lecturer B (Range 3): $6,221 – $13,224
- Lecturer C (Range 4): $6,825 – $14,523
- Lecturer D (Range 5): $8,593 – $15,211
Pay

Schedule
This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term.
