About the role

Teaching within various studio areas and subareas including Ceramics, Glass, Imaging and Illustration, Installation Art, Painting, Performance Art, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Woodworking and Furniture Design, Video, and Special Topics in Art.

Responsibilities

  • Teach classes at all levels (foundation, beginning, intermediate, advanced, and graduate)
  • Work within the department’s scheduling framework (typically 2 class meetings per week on a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule)
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population
  • Work effectively with faculty, staff, and students across a wide range of disciplines

Requirements

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s of Fine Arts from an accredited institution in either a specific discipline or in general studio/ fine art. Required qualifications include a degree in hand by time of appointment. Preferred qualifications include a strong exhibition or professional record and/or evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation, as well as exemplary leadership experience at program level.
