Department of Art & Design (Art History & Art Education) Part-time Lecturer Pool
About the role
Candidates in this position will be tasked with teaching within their discipline. Courses are regularly offered at all levels (1000-level through 5000-level).
Responsibilities
- Teach across all levels of their discipline.
- Work within the department’s scheduling framework (typically 2 class meetings per week on a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule).
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
- Work effectively with faculty, staff, and students across a wide range of disciplines.
Requirements
- Hold a PhD in Art History, Visual Studies or Art Education (or related field) from an accredited institution.
- Required Qualifications: Degree in hand by time of appointment (PhD in an appropriate field).
Preferred Qualifications
- A strong professional record and/or evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation.
- Evidence of exemplary leadership experience at program level.

- The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
- Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with CSUSB.
About The Department
The Department of Art & Design, as part of the College of Arts & Letters at CSUSB, offers bachelor's degrees in art history, design, studio art, and art education, plus a graduate program offering an MA in Art and an MFA in Studio Art. The department serves approximately 500-600 students in its majors per year, plus other students from across the campus.

Salary is commensurate with experience. (Actual Salary will be in accordance with percentage of time appointed)

Lecturer B (Range 3) - $6,221 – $13,224
Lecturer C (Range 4) - $6,825 – $14,523
Lecturer D (Range 5) - $8,593 – $15,211
