Department Manager, Seasonal/Lawn & Garden—Malone, NY

About the Role

We are seeking a Department Manager for our Seasonal department. This role focuses on merchandising and sales within the assigned department, ensuring the highest level of customer service. Extensive knowledge of seasonal items, including garden center products, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products.
• Set priorities for distribution of new merchandise within the assigned department.
• Ensure adequate inventory in all areas of the assigned department.
• Assist customers with purchases.
• Work closely with Retail Buyer(s) to ensure awareness of assigned department product needs and other product information.
• Assist with the training and direction provided to new department team members.
• Ensure safety is practiced when handling merchandise by employees and customers.
• Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements

• Ability to work an irregular work schedule, including days, nights, and every other weekend.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Long periods of standing.
• Frequent bending and twisting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Customer Service training and/or experience preferred.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $17.00–$20.00, depending on experience.
