Department Manager - Lawn&Garden/Seasonal - Pekin, IL

About the role

Department Manager of Lawn & Garden and Seasonal Departments, responsible for merchandising, sales, and providing the highest level of customer service. This position reports to the Store Manager and requires leadership of small teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products.
• Set priorities for distribution of new merchandise within the assigned department.
• Ensure adequate inventory in all areas of the assigned department.
• Assist customers with purchases.
• Work closely with Retail Buyer(s) to ensure awareness of assigned department product needs and other product information.
• Assist with the training and direction provided to new department team members.
• Ensure that safety is practiced when handling merchandise by employees and customers.
• Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements

• Ability to work an irregular work schedule, including days, nights, and alternating weekends.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Long periods of standing.
• Frequent bending and twisting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Customer Service training and/or experience preferred.
• Knowledge or experience with Lawn & Garden products and Seasonal items is preferred.

Pay

$16.50 - $17.00 per hour, depending on experience.
