Department Manager

About the role

The job involves leading shifts and departments in a McDonald’s restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is responsible for employment matters such as hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts to ensure customers receive a fast, accurate, and friendly experience.
• Manage assigned Systems like Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.
• Set goals, delegate tasks, follow up, and report results to teams and other managers.
• Ensure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience.
• Manage sales promotions and train service staff in procedures.
• Organize Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas for optimal service.
• Ensure the restaurant delivers high-quality food and controls food costs.
• Train kitchen staff in production procedures, including new menu items.
• Hire qualified crew, train them, and schedule them to meet sales and profit goals.
• Support Crew in getting off to a good start and motivate them throughout their tenure.

Requirements

• Previous managerial experience, preferably in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
• Positive team player with flexible schedules and a passion for the fast-paced McDonald’s environment.
• Must be 18 years or older to work as a manager in corporate-owned McDonald’s restaurants.
