Department Manager

About the role

The job posting is for a Department Manager position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is responsible for employment matters such as hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts every day, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience.
• Manage assigned Systems, such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.
• Set goals, delegate tasks to teams, follow up, and report results.
• Ensure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience.
• Manage sales promotions and ensure service staff are trained in procedures.
• Organize Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas for optimal service.
• Ensure the restaurant delivers high-quality food quickly and safely.
• Control food costs and train kitchen staff in production procedures.
• Hire, train, and schedule qualified crew members to meet sales and profit goals.
• Support Crew in getting off to a good start and motivate them throughout their time working.

Requirements

• Previous managerial experience, preferably within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
• Positive team player with flexible schedules and a passion for working in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be 18 years or older to be a Manager in the restaurant.
