Department Manager
About the role
This job posting is for a Department Swing Manager position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee. The franchisee is a separate company and employer from McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is responsible for employment matters such as hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, and scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience.
- Manage assigned Systems, such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.
- Set goals, delegate tasks to teams, follow up, and report results.
- Ensure the Guest Service Department delivers a great customer experience.
- Ensure sales promotions are done well.
- Train service staff in service procedures.
- Organize Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas for the best service.
- Ensure the Kitchen Department delivers great quality food and fast service.
- Control food costs and train kitchen staff in production procedures.
- Hire, train, and schedule crew to meet sales and profit goals.
- Support Crew in getting off to a good start and recognizing and motivating them.
Requirements
- Previous managerial experience, preferably in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
- Positive team player with flexible schedules and a passion for the fast-paced McDonald’s environment.
- Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in corporate-owned McDonald’s restaurants.
