Department Manager
About the role
The job involves leading shifts and departments in a McDonald’s restaurant operated by an independent franchisee, S3 Group. The franchisee is a separate entity from McDonald’s USA, which is not involved in employment matters.
Responsibilities
- Ensure customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit.
- Manage assigned Systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.
- Set goals, delegate tasks, follow up, and report results to teams and other managers.
- Lead the Guest Service Department, ensuring great customer experiences, sales promotions, and staff training.
- Lead the Kitchen Department, ensuring high-quality food delivery, food safety, and cost control.
- Lead the People Department, hiring, training, and scheduling staff to meet sales and profit goals.
Requirements
- Previous managerial experience, preferably in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- General cleaning skills, including sweeping and mopping.
- Standing for up to 8 hours during a shift.
- ServSafe certification and completion of McDonald’s training classes.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older to apply for management positions. No specific educational qualifications are required, but previous managerial experience is preferred.
Skills
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing circumstances is crucial.
