Department Manager
About the role
This job posting is for a Department Manager position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is a separate company and employer from McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is responsible for employment matters, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling employees.
Responsibilities
Lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience.
Manage assigned Systems, such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.
Set goals, delegate tasks to teams, follow up, and report results.
Ensure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience.
Manage Sales Promotions effectively.
Train Service Staff in service procedures.
Organize Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas for optimal service.
Ensure Restaurant delivers great quality food and service.
Control Food Cost and ensure all kitchen staff are trained in production procedures.
Hire, train, and schedule qualified crew members to meet restaurant sales and profit goals.
Support Crew in getting off to a good start and recognizing and motivating them throughout their time working there.
Requirements
Previous managerial experience, preferably within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
Positive team player with flexible schedules and a passion for working in the fast-paced McDonald’s environment.
Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in corporate-owned McDonald’s restaurants.
