Department Manager
About the role
The role involves leading shifts and departments in a McDonald’s restaurant operated by an independent franchisee. As a Department Manager, you will take action first by leading important internal functions such as Employee Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management. You will be results-oriented, delegating tasks to team members and reporting back results. You will lead the experience by directly supporting the General Manager to achieve restaurant performance and quality standards in three key areas: Kitchen, People, and Service.
Responsibilities
- Lead important internal functions including Employee Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management
- Effectively delegate tasks to team members and report back results
- Directly support the General Manager to achieve restaurant performance and quality standards in three areas: Kitchen, People, and Service
- Supervise food quality, safety, cost, and new menu items in the Kitchen
- Hire, train, and schedule restaurant staff to meet sales and profit goals
- Ensure all staff is trained and organize key service areas within the restaurant to provide the best service
Requirements
- Previous managerial experience, preferably within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment
- Positive team player with flexible schedules and a passion for the fast-paced McDonald’s environment
- Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in corporate-owned and operated restaurants

A commitment to excellence and safety in the workplace, strong customer service and support focus, the ability to communicate effectively and anticipate customer needs, and the ability to provide solutions and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
