Department Manager

About the role

This job posting is for a Department Swing Manager position in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee, not McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is responsible for employment matters including hiring, firing, discipline, supervising, staffing, and scheduling employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience.
• Manage assigned Systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management.
• Set goals, delegate tasks to teams, follow up, and report results.
• Ensure the Guest Service Department delivers a great customer experience, manages sales promotions, trains service staff, and organizes Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas for optimal service.
• Ensure the Kitchen Department delivers high-quality food and fast service, maintains food safety, controls food costs, and trains kitchen staff in production procedures.
• Ensure the People Department hires qualified crew, trains them well, and schedules them to meet restaurant sales and profit goals.
• Support Crew members by helping them get started and motivating them throughout their time working at the restaurant.

Requirements

• Previous managerial experience, preferably within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
• Positive team player with flexible schedules and the passion to work in the fast-paced McDonald’s environment.
• Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in corporate-owned McDonald’s restaurants.
