Department Manager

About the role

As a Department Manager, you’ll lead your team to create an inclusive culture that supports collaboration and an entrepreneurial spirit. You’ll ensure an excellent operational and visual experience for your store, customers, and colleagues, keeping up-to-date with the fashion scene, trends, and competitors.

Responsibilities

• Customer Sales & Profit
• Ensure the total OMNI customer experience in your store, maintaining visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines.
• Represent yourself and the H&M brand positively during customer interactions.
• Aware of and take responsibility for your department's strengths and commercial opportunities, acting on them.
• Create and analyze sales and budget goals, and develop plans to optimize results and profits.
• Follow up on customer service in all areas of the store and ensure your team can promote and sell products to customers.
• Manage your department in a cost-efficient way.
• Handle administrative tasks such as transactions, returns, and exchanges, and ensure all legal requirements are followed.
• Manage the Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and in-store sustainability initiatives.
• Fashion & Trend Awareness
• Keep up-to-date with the fashion scene, trends, tendencies, styles, brands, products, competitors, and relevant influencers.
• Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge as well as other relevant information during customer interactions.
• Team & Development
• Recruit, onboard, and develop your team in-store.
• Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning to support business and team needs.
• Share your knowledge and skills with your team and collaborate with the Visual Merchandiser team.
• Communicate regularly with store colleagues through daily and weekly meetings, and ensure all procedures, routines, and legal requirements are followed.
• Participate in relevant onboarding and training processes.
• Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution
• Secure a clean and tidy sales floor and back of house, including stockroom areas.
• Ensure high fashion quality, visual, and commercial product presentation, with good garment care.
• Manage stock levels and provide input on allocation to the Area team.
• Secure the full garment cycle, from delivery to garment presentation, and fitting room routines, according to internal and external guidelines.
• Secure a strong balance and the maintenance of price signs in-store and throughout the sales floor/store, following global and local strategies and sales market/regional requirements.
• Secure in-store OMNI Services & in-store tech services/tools, etc. (Instore Care App, Click & Collect, Smart Store etc).
• Update and maintain BOH Areas for all colleagues, including key information, health & safety, tidiness, etc.
• Ensure the opening and closing of the store daily.

Additional Information

• Compensation: Expected base salary range is $23.56 - $27.09 hourly
• EEOC Code: SLS
• Pay Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly
