About the role
The Department Assistant Scheduler plays a vital role in coordinating and completing patient access, clerical, reception, and other duties within the department. Your responsibilities include managing complex patient rescheduling and appointment confirmations, handling inventory, and performing various administrative tasks to support department functioning.Responsibilities
- Greets arriving patients and their families, visitors, and other hospital/medical staff in a kind, courteous manner
- Keeps lobby and public areas organized and professional in appearance
- Manages multiple phone lines, maintaining a positive, cheerful demeanor
- Pre-registers patients in all programs efficiently and accurately
- Schedules complex new patient appointments accurately, and in an appropriate manner as per scheduling guidelines
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) - Three (3) years of secretarial experience
- Preferred: Secretarial experience in healthcare setting, insurance authorization and verification experience, accounts receivable experience, patient scheduling experience
