Job Summary
As our Department Assistant, you will coordinate and complete patient access, clerical, reception, and other duties within the department. Your role is vital for efficient daily operations and positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and complete patient access, clerical, reception, and other duties within the department.
- Maintain a positive, cheerful demeanor while managing multiple phone lines.
- Greet arriving patients and their families, visitors, and other hospital/medical staff in a kind, courteous manner.
- Keep lobby and public areas organized and professional in appearance.
- Pre-registers patients in all programs efficiently and accurately.
- Congratulations patients in all programs efficiently and accurately.
- Schedules complex new patient appointments accurately, and in an appropriate manner as per scheduling guidelines.
- Manages multiple phone lines, maintaining a positive, cheerful demeanor.
- Keeps lobby and public areas organized and professional in appearance.
- Performs various administrative tasks to support department functioning.
- Greets arriving patients and their families, visitors, and other hospital/medical staff in a kind, courteous manner.

Requirements
- Required High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) - Three (3) years of secretarial experience
- Patient scheduling experience
- Preferred Secretarial experience in healthcare setting
- Insurance authorization and insurance benefit verification experience
- Accounts Receivable experience in a healthcare business setting
