Responsibilities
- Create a warm, comfortable, and welcoming experience for every patient
- Prepare treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials for procedures
- Provide efficient chairside assistance, including instrument transfer, suction, and clinical support
- Take and process diagnostic-quality digital x-rays
- Sterilize instruments and maintain treatment areas in accordance with infection control and OSHA standards
- Document dental services and maintain accurate patient records
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and postoperative instructions
- Maintain equipment and help ensure operatories remain organized and treatment-ready
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering and stocking clinical supplies
- Collaborate with providers and team members to support smooth patient flow and an exceptional patient experience
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Dental Assistant program diploma or certificate preferred
- Current CT Dental Assistant credentials and applicable DANB/ICE/RHS certifications preferred
- CPR certification
- 2+ years of dental office experience preferred
- Previous chairside dental assisting experience strongly preferred
- Dentrix experience is a plus
- Experience assisting dental specialists is a plus
- Strong communication, organization, and patient service skills
- Dependable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a busy clinical environment
