Demolition Superintendent (Independence Demolition)

About the role

Independence Demolition is seeking a Demolition Superintendent to lead industrial and commercial demolition projects. Key responsibilities include managing project activities, assessing resources, generating cost estimates, and overseeing project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist the estimating department with pre-bid planning, production, and field experience related to upcoming projects as requested
• Prepare a detailed schedule and maintain it throughout the project
• Create a work sequence plan using available work crews to optimize efficiency before mobilization
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Maintain project cost control and ensure profitability
• Coordinate project close-out activities including punch list coordination, furnishing as-built drawings, providing operation and maintenance manuals, and compiling final estimate/retainer billing
• Ensure adherence to general and specific safety practices, follow company safety manual procedures, and cooperate with the safety representative

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of industrial demolition experience preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with clients and local government
• Experience managing union workforces
• Effective verbal communication skills
