Demand Planning Analyst

About the role

AeroVironment is seeking a SIOP/Demand Planner to assist in corporate-wide SIOP implementation and demand planning. This role will recommend monthly forecast adjustments and assumptions to a cross-functional SIOP team to achieve consensus forecast by product line, review forecast trends and variances, identify root causes, and present solutions. The position involves facilitating SIOP reviews with key stakeholders and maintaining forecast data in Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Translate monthly demand into weekly buckets to meet supply/demand patterns.
• Maintain and reconcile a rolling 5-quarter forecast, considering Operations and Supply Chain capacity constraints.
• Work with the Master Scheduler to align weekly supply with customer demand.
• Analyze key customer accounts to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities for stakeholders; collaborate with Finance to minimize forecast error.
• Manage demand planning accuracy metrics and assist in SIOP RAILs management.
• Maintain SIOP metrics, RAILs, and forecast consumption in Oracle; reconcile to actual demand.
• Align product transitions, obsolescence, introductions, and changes with Business Development (BD) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) to minimize financial impact.
• Facilitate and support regular SIOP meetings to ensure successful implementation of SIOP practices.
• Recommend customer-specific forecasts based on BD and Finance input to support operational execution and near-term deliveries.
• Address problems of diverse scope through data analysis, resolving issues with minimal supervision while adhering to company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain, or similar roles.
• In-depth understanding of demand drivers and forecasting methods to predict their impact on ongoing forecasts.
• Proficiency in demand and supply planning methodology, with awareness of financial and operational impacts.
• Experience with supply chain dynamics and the effects of forecasting on supply chain performance.
• Strong ERP system experience.
• Analytical aptitude with skills in root cause identification and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• APICS training is a plus.

Physical Demands

• Ability to work in an office environment (constant).
• Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (frequent).

Pay

The salary range for this role is $64,500 - $98,250.

This position requires access to information subject to ITAR and/or EAR compliance.
