Delivery Driver/Warehouse Worker position with responsibilities spanning delivery, warehouse operations, and customer service.

About the role

Primarily responsible for delivering merchandise to customer locations and job sites, as well as picking up returned goods. Also handles all aspects of warehouse functions including receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing product for customer delivery while maintaining a safe and orderly warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Plan delivery routes to ensure the most economical use of time and equipment.
  • Perform a variety of duties in the delivery of orders to customer locations and job sites.
  • Obtain or pull material to fill pick tickets from storage yard and warehouse.
  • Verify quantities and items being shipped against the invoice.
  • Load merchandise into the company vehicle and deliver to customers using the company vehicle.
  • Ensure delivery receipt is signed by the customer.
  • Pick up merchandise returns from customers, inspect condition, and verify quantities and catalog numbers.
  • Maintain assigned equipment in clean condition and perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance.
  • Verify quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against packing lists and purchase orders.
  • Transport, gather, distribute, and stock material in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Excellent attendance record required.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • General knowledge of warehouse procedures and ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
  • Clean driving record with ability to pass Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Prior experience safely driving stake bed trucks and other large vehicles.
  • Thorough knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving, and demonstrated ability to operate assigned vehicles.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Ability to pass a Background Check and Drug Screen.

Skills

  • Ability to write and read routine reports or job orders.
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees within the organization.
  • Ability to speak, read, and hear English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret documents and instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp, lift, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific visual abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
  • Work both inside and outside, including on elevated balconies.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with possible overtime as needed.

Pay

$19.00–$24.00 per hour.
