Delivery Driver/Warehouse Worker

About the role

The Delivery Driver/Warehouse Worker is responsible for delivering merchandise to customer locations and job sites, as well as for picking up returned goods. This position oversees all aspects of warehouse functions including receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing products for customer delivery.

Responsibilities

• Planner of delivery routes to ensure the most economical use of time and equipment.
• Performs a variety of duties in the delivery of orders to customer locations and job sites.
• Secures and delivers 10,000 lb. coils on a stake bed or semi-trailer.
• Obtains or pulls material to fill pick tickets from storage yard and warehouse.
• Verifies quantities and items being shipped against the invoice.
• Loads merchandise into the company vehicle.
• Delivers merchandise to the appropriate customers using the company vehicle.
• Ensures that delivery receipt is signed by the customer.
• Picks up merchandise returns from customers.
• Inspects the condition of the merchandise and verifies quantities and catalog numbers.
• Maintains assigned equipment in clean condition.
• Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or necessary repairs to supervisor.
• Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing lists and purchase orders.
• Driver is responsible for delivering merchandise to customer locations and job sites. Also responsible for picking up returned goods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• General knowledge of warehouse procedures and ability to operate material handling equipment in a safe manner.
• Clean driving record with ability to pass Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Prior HVAC experience a plus but not required.
• Excellent attendance record required.
• Able to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to transport, gather, distribute and stock material in a safe, efficient manner.
