Delivery Driver/Warehouse Worker
About the role
The Delivery Driver/Warehouse Worker is primarily responsible for delivering merchandise to customer locations and job sites, as well as for picking up returned goods. The position will also be responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing of product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion.
Responsibilities
- Planner delivery routes to ensure the most economical use of time and equipment.
- Performs a variety of duties in the delivery of orders to customer locations and job sites.
- Obtains or pulls material to fill pick tickets from storage yard and warehouse.
- Verifies quantities and items being shipped against the invoice.
- Limits merchandise into the company vehicle.
- Delivers merchandise to the appropriate customers using the company vehicle.
- Ensures that delivery receipt is signed by the customer.
- Picks up merchandise returns from customers.
- Inspects the condition of the merchandise and verifies quantities and catalog numbers.
- Maintains assigned equipment in clean condition.
- Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or necessary repairs to supervisor.
- Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing lists and purchase orders.
- Driver is responsible for delivering merchandise to customer locations and job sites. Also responsible for picking up returned goods.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- General knowledge of warehouse procedures and ability to operate material handling equipment in a safe manner.
- Clean driving record with ability to pass Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Prior HVAC experience a plus but not required.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to aid in satisfying customer requirements.
- Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements.
- Prior experience safely driving stake bed trucks and other large vehicles.
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving, and demonstrated ability to operate assigned vehicles.
- Excellent attendance record required.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to pass a Background Check and Drug Screen.
Salary and Schedule
$22.00-27.00 per hour; M-F, 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
