About the role
Schedule: Full-time, Midnight–finish, Monday–Friday. Primary role is to transfer product from our Green Bay facility to our Windsor, WI facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform all pre-trip responsibilities to include checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries
- Perform necessary vehicle safety inspections for vehicle
- Drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route
- Ensure vehicle is properly secured during drop-offs
- Load and unload products from vehicle using dolly or other appropriate devices safely
- Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures confirming receipt of product
- Contact management to discuss issues or concerns as they arise throughout the work day
- Perform all post-delivery actions, including unloading damaged product, customer returns, and complete any necessary documents
- Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations during the operation of the truck and handling of product
- Develop and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and goodwill by providing professional assistance and by demonstrating an interest in the customer's needs
- Report any complaints to Supervisor
- Collect money from customers and properly record transactions on company documentation, including invoices
- Ensure that payment (cash, checks, etc.) are properly secured
- Ensure that safety training is current as per company policy
- Supports the Fleet Manager by ensuring that vehicles are maintained according to schedule and records are current and correct
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- Education – High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience – One to two years of commercial driving experience a plus; transportation of temperature controlled product experience preferred
- Customer Service – Friendly, outgoing and courteous customer service demeanor
- Work ethic – A sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines with the ability to work with limited supervision
- Licensing - Must have a valid standard Class D WI license or local state equivalent
- Environmental – Available to work long shifts and Saturdays
- Language – Basic English speaking proficiency
- A combination of the above will also be considered
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and driving
- Regularly be able to lift up to 80 pounds; may occasionally need to lift over 80 pounds
- Requires constant mental and visual attention, as well as ability to see well in limited light scenarios
- Repetitive reaching, bending, and twisting
- Repetitive pushing and pulling
- Must be able to successfully pass a Medical Examiner's Certification
