Responsibilities

  • Operate all store equipment and handle ingredients.
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
  • Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
  • Deliver pizzas and other products to customers within a designated delivery area.
  • Deliver flyers and door hangers.
  • Navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings and private homes, while carrying product.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
  • Access to an insured vehicle for deliveries.
  • Navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use a calculator).
  • Must be able to make correct monetary change.
  • Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
  • Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements, including the use of a computer keyboard or touch screen.

Skills

  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and co-workers.
  • Eye-hand coordination for tasks such as shaping pizza dough and using tools like the pizza peel and cutter.
  • Ability to work under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
  • Capability to handle physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and navigating stairs or ladders.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks or deliveries.
  • In-store temperatures range from 36°F in coolers to 90°F or above in some work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
  • Exposure to fumes from food odors, cornmeal dust, and cramped quarters like walk-in coolers.
  • Hot surfaces and tools, including ovens up to 500°F or higher, and sharp edges/moving mechanical parts.
  • Tasks require near and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
  • Far vision and night vision required for driving.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum surfaces.
  • Walking: Short distances for short durations, including between the store and delivery vehicle.
  • Sitting: Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting: Deliveries may include cases weighing up to 50 pounds, lifted from the floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72 inches high.
  • Carrying: Items such as large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz), pizza sauce (30 lbs), and trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray).
  • Pushing: Trays on dollies, requiring a force of up to 7.5 pounds.
  • Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladders for tasks like changing prices or performing maintenance; may require navigating five or more flights of stairs during deliveries.
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist, particularly at the pizza assembly station, front counter, and when stocking ingredients.
  • Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally required for stocking shelves or cleaning low areas.
  • Reaching: Continuous reaching up, down, and forward for tasks like obtaining ingredients, cleaning, or answering phones.
  • Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination for tasks like shaping dough, using a pizza peel, and assembling cardboard boxes. Frequent and forceful use of forearms, wrists, and pinching motions.
