About the role
Dedicated Transportation Coordinators manage, coordinate, and communicate with our truck fleet during off-hours through satellite and telephone networks.
Responsibilities
- Answer and process messages from 180 to 300 drivers using operating systems, driver telematics, and phone communication.
- Monitor assigned, pre-assigned, committed, and late load statuses.
- Authorize lumper pay, emergency home time, route drivers to terminals for safety issues, and plan trailer swaps and splits as needed.
- Answer telephone calls from drivers regarding hometime, swap/splits, and routing issues.
- Troubleshoot problems drivers have, including late loads, load assignment, routing, permits, lumpers, advances, finding empty trailers, and overweight problems.
- Perform various duties such as copying, calling customers for directions and late loads, retrieving directions from the internet, etc.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
- Maintain timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift as determined by supervisory personnel.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration with an emphasis in Transportation/Logistics, Management, or Marketing; or equivalent experience preferred.
- Six months to one year of previous dispatch experience preferred.
- Mid-range computer experience preferred.
