DECK ELECTRICIAN EXPERIENCED

Deck electricians are largely responsible for the installation, repair, overhaul, and operational testing of the electrical systems aboard the ship. Electricians can be working on one of the many electrical systems aboard the ship including lighting, power distribution, communication or navigation. Electricians read and interpret complex electrical and electronic schematics. The job of an electrician is unique in that it requires an individual that can quickly switch between differing tasks ranging from lighting and receptacle hook-ups, installing wire way racks, rebuilding equipment, installing electronic controls, lighting maintenance, performing preventative maintenance, or welding of studs for mounting equipment.

Must Have

• Candidates must able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces.
• Candidates must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb.
• Candidates must be able to lift 40 lbs and must take and pass a respirator fit test.
• Candidates must be able to work indoors/outdoors year round in all weather conditions.
• Candidates must be able to work assigned shift as production needs.
• Candidates must be able to pass Physical Agility Test.
• Candidates must be able to take measurements or be willing to learn.
• Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience as a commercial, residential, industrial or marine electrician / related experience in mechanical, carpentry, auto mechanics, roofing or computer/IT / related military experience.

Nice to Have

• A high school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of an electrical, technical, mechanical or vocational program; related military training.
