F.H. Peterson Machine Corporation is a modern precision machining job shop that has been servicing the power generation, Naval, Aerospace, satellite optics, food service and many other manufacturing industries since 1957. Working in a team-based atmosphere with the latest technology, we provide contract machining services to a vast customer base. We machine small quantities of diversified parts that range in size from the size of a pencil to over 13,000 lbs. machined to meet our customers' specifications in our climate-controlled facility.
About the Role
Deburring / Finishing Position
Responsibilities
- Work on their feet and sit while using magnified eye loops for working on small parts
- Use hand tools required for deburring such as grinders, sanders and buffing wheels
- Perform finishing and deburring operations on all types of complex machined parts in various stages of completion and in different types of material
- Handle workpieces ranging from small items held by hand and viewed under magnification to parts requiring a crane or hoist to lift and position
- Deburr edges following machining
- Hand tapping and marking by impression stamps
- Solvent cleaning and polishing
- Occasional installation of commercial threaded inserts in machined items
- Work from customer drawings and specifications as well as verbal instructions with minimal supervision
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of machining and handling of finished parts
- Hand and eye dexterity
- US Citizenship required
Qualifications
- Machining experience is necessary due to intricate work
- Knowledge of heli-coil installation, tapping of parts, and other machining duties
Skills
- Ability to operate grinders, sanders, buffing wheels and other hand tools
- Proficiency in deburring, hand tapping, marking, solvent cleaning, and polishing
- Familiarity with various materials including steel, aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, alloy steels, plastics and polymers

Pay
$48,000 to $58,000 per year
Schedule
Minimum 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Up to 40 hours on a flexible basis depending on workload.
