Under direct supervision, assist the College Equipment Specialist with scientific equipment, including basic installation, removal, repairs, and relocation. Help maintain supplies and consumables for the equipment and keep accurate records. Additional duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation, removal, repairs, and relocation of scientific equipment
- Maintain supplies and consumables for equipment
- Maintain record keeping
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work
- Follow oral instructions
- Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students
- Communicate effectively with all levels
- Read and write English at a level appropriate to the position
- Admission or registration as a CSU student (special qualification)
- Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative
- Enrolled in at least half-time units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Possession of a Social Security Card for payroll purposes
Preferred Qualifications
- Able to lift 25 lbs
Pay
Anticipated hiring range: $16.90 per hour. Compensation will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.
Schedule
- Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm)
- Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm)
This is a part-time, temporary, seasonal, on-campus-only position. Student employees are not eligible to telecommute.
Conditions of Employment
- Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required
- Possession of a valid Driver's License may be required; employees will be enrolled in the DMV Government Employer Pull Notice Program
- Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States (Form I-9)
- Applicants may be required to disclose any final administrative or judicial decisions regarding sexual harassment within the last 7 years
- Applicants reaching final stages must sign a release form authorizing the release of employment information from current/former employers
- Must reside in the State of California upon hire
