The College of Arts and Letters at San Diego State University is accepting applications for part-time lecturer positions. We welcome applications from prospective temporary faculty with expertise or experience in Brazilian Studies, Social Science, Human Rights Initiatives, and Japan Studies.

About the role

Temporary appointments may be either full- or part-time. Appointments are often made just prior to the start of the academic term, which runs from mid-August to late-December for the Fall term and mid-January to mid-May for the Spring term. Summer Sessions opportunities may also be available.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the designated area of expertise
• Develop and maintain course materials
• Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter

Requirements

• Graduate degree in relevant field
• University-level teaching experience

Qualifications

• Demonstrated currency in subject matter

Skills

• Effective communication skills
• Ability to adapt to short-term commitments

Benefits

Initial appointments are typically one semester or one academic year, contingent on satisfactory evaluations and continuing availability of work.

• Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
• Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
• Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
• Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211

Schedule

Opportunities for teaching during the Fall term begin mid-August and end late-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends mid-May. Summer Sessions opportunities may also be available.
