Dean of Students - 3rd-5th Grade - Immediate Start

About the role

BASIS Leander is seeking a 3rd-5th Grade Dean of Students to start as soon as possible. The Dean of Students plays a crucial role in fostering a positive and achievement-oriented school culture.

Responsibilities

  • Supports teachers in resolving communication issues between students and parents
  • Organizes student arrivals and dismissals
  • Reviews and analyzes assessment results for new students
  • Maintains student discipline and documents incidents
  • Communicates with parents about student performance and conduct
  • Participates in developing academic and student schedules
  • Executes standardized assessments and supports teachers in building positive relationships with parents
  • Attends and participates in faculty and staff meetings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a school setting (preferably charter or independent)
  • Experience in behavior management or related field

  • Strong belief in and adherence to the BASIS Ed model
  • Effective relationship-building skills
  • Ability to analyze data to improve student achievement
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Patient, flexible, and humorous
