Interim Dean of Students (1st semester 26-27 School Year)

About the role

Perform functions to implement the school's attendance and discipline policies to ensure a safe and orderly school environment. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Implement attendance policies and keep accurate records.
• Notify Administrators and parents of excessive student absenteeism.
• Maintain order on school grounds and enforce the school discipline code.
• Work with parents, outside agencies, school resource officers, and student services to address student issues or incidents.
• Oversee shuttle bus transportation between school buildings.
• Care for the placement or re-entry of students from alternative school settings.
• Manage in-school detention center.
• Participate on problem-solving and intervention teams to facilitate early involvement and resolution of behavioral problems.
• Supervise at various after-hours and evening events.
• Supervise Deans Assistants and attendance office staff.
• Assign and review work, train, assist employees, and resolve ordinary difficulties.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A valid Illinois Professional Educator License.
• Prior experience as an administrator or working towards a Principal endorsement is preferred.
