About the role

The role is full-time and based in Syracuse, NY. The Dean will lead nursing education at St. Joseph’s College of Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Guides nursing education into the future with a shared strategic vision
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders, including the Syracuse community and Central New York region
  • Serves as the chief administrative officer of the college
  • Manages the overall operations and administration of the College of Nursing
  • Represents the college to academic and professional education communities, students, and alumni
  • Creates and articulates a vision for the college’s strategic plan
  • Develops and manages the operational and capital budget
  • Maintains knowledge and skills related to nursing education, curriculum design, and program development and evaluation
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and governing documents

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree required, Master’s degree in nursing or related field with at least five years of progressive experience in nursing education and academic leadership
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York state
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations/laws as they pertain to health care and nursing education
  • Broad-based knowledge of college-related regulatory compliance requirements
  • Specialized knowledge and skills in nursing education, curriculum design, and program development and evaluation

  • Strong management practice, including planning, organizing, conflict resolution and negotiation

  • Interest in and involvement with relevant local, regional, and national professional organizations

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledgeable of governing documents and policies of the organization
  • Understanding of the general principles of utilization management, performance improvement, and peer review

Pay

The salary range is $155,168 - $204,776, with pay based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

Schedule

The role is full-time and based in Syracuse, NY. The schedule is Day Shift.
