About the role
The Dean, College of Nursing at St. Joseph’s College of Nursing is responsible for guiding nursing education and representing the college to academic and professional communities.
Responsibilities
- Guides nursing education and represents the college to academic and professional education communities, students, and alumni.
- Serves as the chief administrative officer of the college, responsible for planning, organizing, and leading the overall operations and administration of the service assigned in compliance with the mission and philosophy of the organization as established by the Board of Trustees.
- Creates and clearly articulates the vision and leadership necessary to accomplish the college’s strategic plan while aligning the mission of the college and the governing organization.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree required, Master’s degree in nursing or related field with at least five years of progressive experience in nursing education and academic leadership.
- Holds current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York state.
- Maintains specialized knowledge and skills in nursing education, curriculum design, and program development and evaluation.
- Participates in continuing education, updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Pay
The Dean, College of Nursing at St. Joseph’s College of Nursing is compensated based on experience, skills, and education. The salary range is $155,168 - $204,776, with pay determined within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. Positions are exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Schedule
The Dean, College of Nursing works a standard full-time schedule, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities as needed.
