Job Responsibilities
- Manage accounting activity for assigned dealership(s) or business lines, ensuring assigned work is accurate, complete, timely, and properly supported.
- Perform expanded operational accounting activity, including cash sales review and follow-up, manufacturer incentive posting and reconciliation, and factory invoice review support.
- Process and coordinate street purchases, auction purchases, wholesale transactions, and related accounting activity.
- Prepare, maintain, and own assigned schedules and reconciliations, including research and resolution of variances.
- Complete month-end close tasks for assigned dealership(s), including required reconciliations, entries, and issue escalation.
- Cookordination with centralized teams where responsibilities are shared and resolve handoff or documentation issues.
- Train and support Dealership Accountant I team members; serve as first-level escalation for routine or moderately complex transactional questions.
- Contribute to process improvement, workflow consistency, and improved documentation standards.
- Independently own assigned accounting processes, schedules, reconciliations, and close activities.
- Identify, research, and resolve more complex accounting issues with limited supervision.
- Take ownership of accounting outcomes, reconciliation integrity, and financial statement support within assigned areas.
What are we looking for?
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; equivalent accounting experience may be considered in lieu of formal accounting education beyond this level.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger activity, schedules, reconciliations, documentation standards, and variance research.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple activities, meet deadlines, resolve routine-to-moderately complex issues independently, and train or support others.
- Experienced accountant with approximately 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including ownership of reconciliations, close activities, issue resolution, and mentoring/training of less experienced team members.
- Experience researching and resolving complex accounting discrepancies.
Compensation
$28 - $35/hour (depending on experience)
