Dealership Accountant II

About the role

Lithia & Driveway (LAD) is a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest automotive retailers in North America, with nearly 450 dealerships across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. Our Dealership Accounting teams are essential partners in our success, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process and record dealership transactions, including vehicle purchases, dealer trades, wholesale transactions, and deal postings.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable activities, including vendor payments, cash receipts, lien payoffs, and collections.
• Reconcile financial accounts and manufacturer programs, including FTC, rebates, product payables, and intercompany transactions.
• Support dealership operations through warranty processing, cancellations, refund checks, and customer referral payments.
• Maintain accurate schedules and records while contributing to overall accounting team success and business objectives.

Requirements

• Strong accounting knowledge, including debits, credits, chart of accounts, and variance research.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills with a high level of professionalism.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities with urgency and accuracy.
• Bookkeeping certification, Associate's degree in Accounting, or equivalent accounting experience preferred; automotive industry experience is a plus.
• Proficient with office technology and committed to personal accountability, integrity, and continuous growth.

Qualifications

A High School graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older required.
