This is a test site-based role requiring regular travel between our Long Beach headquarters and remote test locations. You will be on the floor every day—assembling complex electrical systems, configuring test rigs, operating ground support equipment, and executing test campaigns for spacecraft and propulsion hardware. Reporting to the Developmental Test Technician Lead, you'll work alongside electrical and test engineers in a fast-paced, build-it-from-scratch startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on assembly, integration, and configuration of electrical system test articles, test rigs, and ground support equipment for spacecraft and propulsion test campaigns.
  • Execute electrical system test operations including power distribution, circuit verification, continuity checks, functional tests, and performance validation under the direction of test engineers.
  • Fabricate, modify, and repair electrical hardware using precision hand tools, power tools, and wire termination equipment.
  • Work with various connectors including MIL-spec, D-sub, circular connectors, and high-power interfaces.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical GSE including power supplies, load banks, battery charging systems, data acquisition equipment, and test instrumentation.
  • Perform hardware inspections and documentation, flagging non-conformances and ensuring all materials meet electrical safety standards and ESD requirements.
  • Maintain tooling, GSE, and consumables readiness including inventory tracking and calibration management.
  • Support anomaly investigations through hands-on observations, electrical troubleshooting, hardware teardown, and documentation of as-found conditions.
  • Travel regularly between Long Beach headquarters and test sites to support test campaigns and maintain test site readiness.

Requirements

  • Technical degree, certification, vocational training, or equivalent hands-on experience (3+ years) in electrical systems, avionics, electronics, or electrical trades.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with electrical system assembly, high-voltage testing, continuity testing, and circuit verification operations.
  • Proficiency reading and working from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Strong electrical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, wire crimpers, and precision measurement tools (multimeters).
  • Understanding of safety compliance and OSHA requirements for electrical and high-voltage system operations.
  • Willingness to travel/support between sites including test sites to achieve company milestones.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform extended standing, bending, and reaching tasks.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of aerospace or defense test operations experience with spacecraft electrical systems or avionics.
  • Direct experience with ordnance and pyrotechnic device operations including safe/arm procedures and firing operations.
  • Experience with structural test operations including strain gauge installation and instrumentation wiring.
  • Background in data acquisition systems, test instrumentation setup, and signal conditioning.
  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certifications for electrical assembly and soldering.
  • Prior experience at development test facilities or propulsion test sites.
  • Leadership experience mentoring junior technicians or leading work teams.
  • Active DoD clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Heavy equipment certifications (forklift, boom lift, crane/rigging).

Benefits

  • Health, Dental, Vision insurance
