About the Role
To maintain a safe, orderly environment and a high level of student learning when the regular teacher is absent.
Qualifications
- Non-certified subs must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Forty-eight credit hours or a college degree preferred.
- Experience working with children preferred.
- Certified subs must have a bachelor’s degree in education with a teaching license.
- Long-term subs must have an active North Carolina teaching license in the area of the long-term assignment.
Requirements
- Upload verification of education (high school diploma or official college transcripts) and teaching license if applicable.
- References must include your current or most recent supervisor.
- After pre-screening: criminal background check and principal interview.
- Upon offer and acceptance: fingerprinting and completion of online NHCS Substitute Training and Effective Teacher Training (if no teaching license).
