About the Role
The Prep1 position focuses on the accurate and efficient processing of ingredients for production while taking a leadership role within specific areas of the department. This role involves training and developing staff, working independently across multiple zones, and improving departmental efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee accurate, efficient ingredient processing while minimizing foreign material risks.
- Train and develop new and current staff within the department.
- Work independently in multiple zones without direct supervision.
- Expedite the Prep line and delegate work to improve departmental efficiencies.
- Foster productive working relationships with Prep, Prep 1, and Prep 2 personnel.
- Create a positive team environment and strengthen team performance.
- Monitor and address team KPIs, offering process recommendations and implementing changes for underperformers.
- Perform batch kitting: bulk ingredient breakdown, weighing, and labeling according to recipe and SOP requirements.
- Collaborate closely with Production and team members.
- Ensure all paperwork and process data is completed accurately.
- Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
Food Safety Responsibilities
- Complete required paperwork accurately and honestly.
- Adhere to corporate GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and Food Safety policies.
- Follow Allergen control programs and procedures.
- Report suspicious packages, activities, or individuals.
- If monitoring CCPs (Critical Control Points), adhere to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) training and approved plans.
Physical Demands
The role requires regular standing, walking, use of hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, and communication. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be needed. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
The work environment includes exposure to cold, wet, and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and moderate noise levels.
