About the Role
Provide human resources support to DC management, DC Human Resources Business Partner (DCHRBP), and DC team members. Collaborate with the DCHRBP on recruitment initiatives, screening applicants, and completion of new hire paperwork. Assist with new team member orientation, benefit education classes, and team member relations support.
Responsibilities
- Track and maintain emergency contact information, team member listings, turnover reports, and other HR documentation.
- Copy and distribute phone lists, corporate information, employee evacuation lists, status changes, and other documents.
- Ensure proper phone coverage for the human resources office and provide coverage for the DCHRBP and DC manager as needed.
- Order, distribute, and process billing for uniform shirts for DC team members and supervisors.
- Generate and prepare monthly evaluation reports for DC team members and distribute to supervisors to ensure timely completion.
- Schedule interviews, prescreen applicants, track drug screens, assist in recruiting efforts, and utilize outside vendors for reference checks.
- Process new hire paperwork, including data entry into the Company system, creating team member badges, and preparing orientation materials.
- Provide support to team members on benefits, benefit enrollment, uniforms, and other HR-related questions.
- Coordinate team member activities and goodwill projects, including the Why We Work Safe program.
- Attend Town Hall and Safety Committee meetings, write meeting minutes, and distribute approved minutes.
- Prepare submissions for the DC FYI newsletter.
- Support the DCHRBP with investigation protocols, including collecting team member statements and incident background information.
- Provide support with the annual wage survey process.
- Assist with workers’ compensation paperwork and team member follow-up.
- Participate in DC audits, including Powered Industrial equipment documentation and Employment and Safety posters.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 1+ year of office or human resources experience.
- Proficient computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), ten-key, data entry, and typing.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work well in a team environment.
- Strong customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years of office or human resources experience.
- Prior understanding of basic HR laws and procedures.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
