Responsible For

• Cooking, baking, and food preparation
• Ensuring safe food storage and disposal, including maintaining temperature logs
• Cooking meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs
• Maintaining children’s allergy list regularly
• Weekly ordering and receiving all food supplies and replenishing dishware and cookware
• Maintaining food portioning guidelines and appropriate food inventory
• Complying with all health regulations and the company’s best practices
• Upkeeping kitchen cleaning schedule, including dishwashing, daily, weekly, and monthly duties
• Occasionally preparing food for field trips, school-age programs, and community events

Required

• A high school diploma/GED equivalency
• A valid driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract
• Current Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain one
• Clear background checks and up-to-date health assessments
• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 45 pounds
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to take initiative and problem-solve effectively

Preferred

• Experience working with vulnerable populations
• Experience working with children

What You’ll Do

As a cook, you will assist in the overall management of day-to-day operations of all food preparation and cooking in the kitchen.
