About This Role

Sonshine Learning Center in Greenville, SC is hiring a Daycare Cook to support operations at a mission-driven early childhood education organization. This role offers $15 – $16/Hr and requires no formal credential — just relevant experience.

Large Childcare Center | Competitive Pay | Supportive Team Environment

This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM — no evenings or weekends!

What You'll Do

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks daily
• Create and implement rotating seasonal menus that meet USDA and DSS guidelines
• Maintain accurate food counts and meal documentation
• Ensure full compliance with DSS and DHEC standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, complaint-ready kitchen at all times
• Monitor food inventory and place orders as needed
• Follow safe food handling and sanitation procedures
• Accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions

Requirements

• Experience cooking in a childcare, school, or commercial kitchen setting preferred
• Knowledge of DSS and DHEC regulations strongly preferred
• 18 years of age (or older)
• High School Diploma
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Food safety certification preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Able to lift 25+ lbs and stand for extended periods
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
