Daycare Assistant

About the role

Daycare Assistant position covering lunch breaks in five inclusion preschool classrooms. The role follows the school calendar plus six weeks of summer programming.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Part‑time: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm or 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
• School‑year calendar plus six weeks in summer

Responsibilities

• Cover lunch breaks across five classrooms
• Work in inclusion preschool classrooms (typically developing children alongside children with special needs)
• Provide enjoyable, meaningful activities for children ages 3–5
• Collaborate with teaching team to support a caring, energetic environment

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• NYS Teaching Assistant Certification preferred but not required
• Must enjoy working with young children
• High energy level and caring personality
• Experience with special‑needs children and preschool‑aged children a plus
• Babysitting experience helpful but not required
