Daycare Assistant

About the Role

Early childhood is an important time in the development of children. Having caring and loving caregivers is so important during the first five years of a child's life. At Little Lukes you can provide enjoyable and meaningful activities for the children in our care. We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated people interested in helping young children explore, learn and grow. Our award‑winning curriculum provides an invigorating learning environment for children ages 3 to 5 years in integrated preschool classrooms that merge typically developing daycare children with preschool children with special needs.

Positions Available

• Part‑Time Daycare Assistant (Dewitt, NY) – school calendar plus 6‑week summer program
• Substitute Teacher – flexible schedule, Monday through Friday
• Daycare Opener – mornings as early as 7:00 am
• Childcare Center Closer – afternoons 2:30 pm or 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm
• Receptionist (afternoons until 5:30 pm)
• Lead Teacher
• Special Education Teacher
• Teacher Assistant (TA)
• Substitutes for all positions and age levels
• Pediatric Speech‑Language Pathologist
• Pediatric Occupational Therapist
• Pediatric Physical Therapist

Schedule & Hours

• Daycare Assistant: Monday–Friday, 11:00 am–2:00 pm (part‑time) or 10:00 am–2:00 pm; follows school calendar plus 6‑week summer program
• Substitute Teacher: Monday–Friday, flexible based on availability; hours between 7:00 am–5:30 pm, varying each week
• Daycare Opener: as early as 7:00 am to open the center
• Childcare Center Closer: 2:30 pm or 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm
• Receptionist: afternoons until 5:30 pm

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
• NYS Teaching Assistant Certification preferred but not required
• Must enjoy working with children
• High energy level and caring personality
• Experience with special‑needs children and preschool‑aged children a plus
• Babysitting experience helpful but not required
• Prior childcare, daycare, or preschool experience preferred
• Positive personality and teamwork mentality
