The National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) is recruiting for two Research Fellow positions to work on a project for the research study on "Macroeconomic Modelling of Oil Price Shocks on Indian Economy" with NITI AAYOG. The position is initially for six months, renewal subject to performance and fund availability.
About the role
The successful candidates will contribute to the research study by analyzing macroeconomic impacts of oil price shocks on the Indian economy. They will work closely with a team of economists and policy analysts at NITI AAYOG.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data related to oil prices and their impact on the Indian economy
- Develop and refine models to predict economic outcomes under different scenarios
- Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations for policymakers
- Collaborate with other researchers and stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the research findings
Requirements
- PhD in Economics or a related field with a strong background in econometrics and macroeconomics
- At least 2 years of relevant research experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Economics or a related field
- Experience in conducting empirical research
- Knowledge of statistical software such as R, Python, or Stata
Skills
- Proficiency in econometric modeling
- Strong understanding of macroeconomic theory and policy
