The National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) is recruiting for two Research Fellow positions to work on a project for the research study on "Macroeconomic Modelling of Oil Price Shocks on Indian Economy" with NITI AAYOG. The position is initially for six months, renewal subject to performance and fund availability.
About the role
The successful candidates will contribute to the research study on "Macroeconomic Modelling of Oil Price Shocks on Indian Economy" under the guidance of experienced researchers at NIPFP. They will be expected to conduct literature reviews, analyze data, and produce research outputs as part of the project.
Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews on macroeconomic models and oil price shocks
- Analyze data related to oil prices and their impact on the Indian economy
- Develop and refine economic models to simulate the effects of oil price shocks
- Write research papers and reports summarizing findings and recommendations
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in macroeconomic analysis or econometrics
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical software such as R, Python, or Stata
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field preferred
- Experience with economic modeling and simulation tools
- Knowledge of Indian economic policies and markets
