About the role

Cornerstone Defense is seeking a skilled Database Engineer/System Administrator to join our dynamic team. This position requires a deep understanding of Oracle Database systems, proficiency in cloud technologies, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize Oracle Database environments, including Autonomous Database, DBaaS, and Exadata Cloud Service.
  • Optimize SQL queries, manage indexes, and implement partitioning strategies.
  • Use monitoring tools like Oracle AWR, ASH, or OEM to diagnose and resolve performance issues.
  • Develop and maintain cloud-native infrastructure using Terraform and OCI Resource Manager.
  • Create and maintain scripts in Python, Shell scripting, or PL/SQL to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices and adhere to relevant regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Oracle Database administration.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, or Azure.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Shell scripting, or PL/SQL.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native principles and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • CISSP certification preferred.

Skills

  • Strong technical expertise in Oracle Database administration.
  • Experience with cloud architectures and automation tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
